High availability is included at the hosting-platform level. Daily backups provide historical recovery points. Optional account replication creates a wider recovery and managed cutover path.

02 / Recovery story
From normal service to a managed route.
This sequence describes the wider path available when compatible optional account replication and managed DNS are in place. It is not a universal zero-downtime promise.

03 / Managed cutover conditions
DNS access is part of the recovery path.
A managed DNS update is possible when the domain uses the service nameservers or an authorised Cloudflare API connection. Without that access, an external DNS provider cannot be changed on the customer’s behalf.

- The client must provide and retain appropriate authorisation.

- A customer-managed change may be needed.

Choose the hosting first. Add wider protection when the account needs it.
After activation, open Products → Hosting Protection → Protect Account in the client area. Compatibility, destination and schedule are confirmed before replication is enabled.
